MODEL RD-GT
PRODUCT RESOURCE MATERIALS
The ROTOSCREEN RD-GT Gravity Drum Screen is an internal-fed screening unit, manufactured by PRO-Equipment, to handle debris without blinding. The RD-GT Rotary Screen is used for multiple applications including wastewater Headworks and industrial Screenings. Multiple internal conveying flights ensure clog-free, continuous performance with minimal operator attention.
The RD-GT screen openings are 0.010" to 0.25"(0.25mm to 6mm). The rotary drum is enclosed for safety and odor prevention. The unit is outfitted with a spraying / backwash assembly that washes off any debris sticking to the internal face of the rotary drum.
The Backwash assembly activation periods can be programmed to operate as needed. The Drum Drive system consists of a gear motor with an optional VFD control. The screen drum is typically made of wedgewire.

OPERATION PRINCIPLES
Influent enters a headbox inside the screen drum. The headbox overflows and distributes the flow evenly onto the rotating screen drum. As water passes through the screen, debris is retained on the inside of the screen drum. Spiral flights inside the drum convey the debris along the length of the screen to discharge. No doctor blade is required in this design. The debris can drop off into a container, conveyor chute or washer compactor for further processing to reduce the water content and volume.
