FRP Pre-Fabricated Modular Sewage Treatment Systems

Model MG-8T

PRODUCT RESOURCE MATERIALS

PRO-SEP model MG-8T modular sewage treatment systems are constructed of FRP to benefit from its superior structural properties and corrosion resistance.

The MG-8T system consists of a horizontal cylindrical tank with unit process compartments. All unit processes are pre-engineered and pre-fabricated to facilitate easy installation on-site. After placing the system in place, all that is left to finish are the fluid connections between flanges and electrical junction boxes.

Single unit process capacities range from 1,000 to 13,000 GPD

PRO-SEP model MG-8T modular sewage treatment systems are designed for the treatment of domestic or similar wastewater to secondary treatment standards for discharging into water bodies. Unit processes include solids/liquid separation, contact aeration with media, clarification, and disinfection. A reliable aeration blower supplies the necessary aeration of the fixed media module. The PRO-SEP treatment module is designed for in-ground or above-ground installation.

PROCESS DESCRIPTION

  1. Solids/Liquid Separation:

    • MG-8T systems receive sewage from the collection system and separate sizeable solids by gravity in the first compartment. Activated sludge, separated from the final clarifier, is also returned to this compartment for storage. Periodic clean-out is necessary from this compartment to maintain system functions. A vent in this compartment allows ventilation.

  2. Contact Aeration:

    • Following the solid/liquid separation stage, the contact aeration compartment is equipped with submerged biological treatment media to host biomass for treatment. Soluble and a portion of solid organics are removed by the biomass population as their food source. Aeration is provided to supply the oxygen demand of the biomass and to facilitate sloughing of the aged biomass. A PEI “SHARKS-Quiet and Powerful” Tri-Lobe PD blower is provided to supply the air.

  3. Clarification:

    • A gravity clarifier accepts the mixed liquor from the contact aeration compartment and settles solids, mainly biomass, from the treated wastewater. A cone bottom is featured in this section to further thicken settled solids for better handling. An airlift pump delivers the thickened sludge to the first solid/liquid separation compartment for storage and disposal. Treated wastewater overflows through the V-notch weir and goes on to the disinfection compartment for final treatment.

  4. Disinfection:

    • The typical disinfectant used is Chlorine Tablets, which are commercially available in most areas. The main purpose of this process is to “kill” residual pathogens such as E-Coli before discharging to water bodies

All compartments are accessible from the top-mounted man-ways provided for inspection and maintenance needs.

FEATURES

  1. Durable FRP construction for long service life

    • Tanks are round with a standard diameter of 8.3’ (2.5 meters), designed to withstand burial pressure from all directions.

    • Half-spherical end caps on both ends provide even distribution of structural loads

    • 30% fiberglass content exceeds the performance of the typical 25% fiberglass FRP construction and supports the 5-year tank warranty.

  2. High quality components for performance

    • High quality media

    • Superior fine bubble membrane diffusers

    • Low noise, high efficiency blower

  3. Unique design for easy operation and maintenance

    • Union connections in diffuser headers

    • Adjustable overflow weirs

    • Accessible man-ways
